Real Estate has to be one of the most "socially oriented" businesses out there! There's no avoiding it! You have to be in contact with multitudes of people in order to survive in this industry.
The risks of contracting H1N1 while negotiating the Sale or Purchase of a home or other investment, has unfortunately now become part of the equation. This concern should not be taken lightly, but then again, the odds of contracting it during this type of negotiation, is very low.
Buyers & Sellers alike, as well as the Real Estate Agents representing their interests, are encouraged to take precautions so as to reduce the chances of transmitting H1N1.
I recommend to my clients, that they carry hand sanitizer with them at all times. I also encourage people hosting Open Houses to make this product available throughout their home for potential buyers to use when visiting their home. This will offer some protection to the Homeowner as well as the Prospective Buyer in reducing the chances of exposing one another to this flu strain.
I don't know where this flu originated from, or how long we will have to deal with it. I don't even know if I will get the "recommended" vaccination. What I do know, is that common sense should always prevail!
If you are sick, stay at home!
Please feel free to "pass that on!"
